4 Janus Henderson Funds for Navigating Shifting Market Trends
Read MoreHide Full Article
Janus Capital was founded in Denver, CO, in 1969 and launched its first mutual fund in 1970. Henderson traces its origins to London in 1934. The two organizations merged in 2017 to form Janus Henderson Group, creating a global asset manager with capabilities across multiple asset classes and investment styles.
Janus Henderson has expanded considerably in recent years. Its assets under management (AUM) reached $493.2 billion as of Dec. 31, 2025, up 30% year over year, supported by favorable market performance, new client assets and currency movements. Net inflows totaled $56.5 billion in 2025 compared with $2.4 billion in 2024. By June 30, 2026, the firm's AUM had reached $500 billion, reflecting its growing global investment platform.
The company also reported stronger financial results in 2025. Full-year revenue increased to $3.10 billion from $2.47 billion in 2024, while net income attributable to Janus Henderson rose to $815.9 million from $408.9 million. Earnings per share (EPS) climbed to $5.23 from $2.56.
The company officially completed its take-private transaction on June 30, 2026, when it was acquired by Trian, General Catalyst and QIA. As a result of this acquisition, Janus Henderson was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and no longer files public quarterly earnings reports as a publicly traded. The day-to-day management, investment objectives, and underlying strategies of Janus Henderson’s mutual funds, however, remain unchanged. The pre-acquisition leadership team, including CEO Ali Dibadj, remains at the helm to maintain operational stability.
In the current market environment, Janus Henderson faces both opportunities and challenges. Artificial intelligence (AI)-related investment demand has supported selected growth-oriented holdings, while elevated valuations, interest-rate uncertainty and geopolitical risks have encouraged greater selectivity. Its diversified investment capabilities and research-driven approach may help capture opportunities across market cycles, although results vary by strategy.
Astute investors might choose to consider such funds at present. Mutual funds, in general, reduce transaction costs and diversify portfolios without an array of commission charges that are mostly associated with stock purchases (read more: Mutual Funds: Advantages, Disadvantages, and How They Make Investors Money).
